Breaking ! Neeraj Chopra bags a silver medal in the World Athletics Championship

India has managed to bag the silver medal in the Javelin throw event in the World Athletics Championship 2022. He was competing with Rohit Yadav, Jakub Vadlejch, Arshad Nadeem, Lassi Etelatalo, and defending champion Anderson Peters. The Indian Army Subedar had qualified for the final with a single attempt earlier this week. Peters had a great start as he threw 90.21 meters away. In reply, Chopra could only throw 82.39 meters away and had fouled. On the other hand, Yadav came up with 78.05 meters and 77.96 and was in eighth place, to begin with. Etelatalo threw 82.70 meters away to move into fourth place. At this point, Chopra was now at the fifth spot. However, he moved up to fourth with 86.37 meters. His Indian counterpart came up with 78.72 meters in his third attempt but was stuck at the eighth spot. The biggest blow from the Indian point of view was when Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch went big with 88.09 meters. Now, even a single medal was looking too far away for the Tokyo Olympics medalist. Also, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem produced 86.16 meters. However, the 24-year-old wasn’t ready to get bogged down and moved into second place with 88.13 meters in Round 4. After the throw, he somehow knew that he would bag a medal.
