Team India faced off against Bangladesh in the second T20I of their three-match series on October 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Following a dominant win in the first T20I in Gwalior, India batted first in the second game and posted a massive 221/9 in their 20 overs, despite a top-order collapse early on.

The intense first innings, filled with twists and turns, entertained fans, who took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share their funny reactions through memes. As always, the cricketing community didn’t disappoint, providing some much-needed humor during the high-scoring game.

Here are some of the best memes that surfaced after India’s first innings:

    3. “Rinku Singh to Nitish Kumar Reddy: ‘When you’re struggling, just hit a six and smile like me!’ “

      • A meme depicting the frustration of Bangladesh bowlers trying to contain India’s middle order.
    5. “When Hardik Pandya enters the crease: Cue the action music.“
      • Fans humorously likened Pandya’s entry and quickfire 32 to an action hero’s arrival.
    6. “Taskin Ahmed watching his teammates leak runs: ‘I can’t do this alone!’ “
      • A nod to Taskin’s impressive 2/16 bowling figures amidst Bangladesh’s struggles.
    7. “When you’re 41/3 but still manage to post 221: India be like ‘plot twist.’”
      • A funny take on how India bounced back from their early collapse.
    8. “India’s top-order collapse: Chaos. Rinku and Nitish’s partnership: Order restored.”

    9. “Bangladesh fans checking the score after the powerplay vs after 20 overs.”
      • Depicting the drastic change in the match situation in a hilarious before-and-after format.
    10. “When you thought Bangladesh was in control but Rinku and Nitish said, ‘Not today!’”
      • Capturing the essence of the duo’s match-defining partnership.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh’s Crucial Partnership Powers India to 221/9

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and chose to field first. The pitch was challenging at the start, which led to India losing Sanju Samson (10), Abhishek Sharma (15), and Suryakumar Yadav (8) early, leaving the team reeling at 41/3.

However, 21-year-old Nitish Kumar Reddy, playing just his second T20I for India, steadied the ship with an impressive knock of 74 off 34 balls. He formed a vital 108-run partnership with Rinku Singh, who scored a fluent 53 off 29 balls.

Despite the early setbacks, India finished strong, thanks to Hardik Pandya (32) and Riyan Parag (15), who added some crucial runs at the end. Taskin Ahmed (2/16) was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, but India’s big total will give them a huge advantage going into the second innings.
